Jewish Mainers have a long, rich history in the state stretching back to colonial times. The first synagogue in the state was established in Bangor back in 1849 and waves of Jewish immigrants arrived to Maine in the late 19th and early 20th centuries from Eastern Europe.

Ironworkers Local 7, Carpenters 349, IUPAT DC 35, Operating Engineers 4 and Laborers’ 327 members have been hard at work on a new Roux Institute project at the site of the old B&M Baked Beans plant in Portland. About 75 to 100 Ironworkers have been working on the project for the past year.
