Workers at the Holy Donut at the Park Avenue location in Portland unanimously voted Monday to form a union with the Machinists Union.

Our brothers and sisters with Teamsters Local Union 340 will be holding a rally this coming Monday, April 27 evening at the Portland Water Districts office located at 225 Douglas St. in Portland prior to the 6pm Trustees meeting.

The Trump administration has terminated collective bargaining agreements with two unions representing several hundred workers at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The two impacted unions are the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and the American Federation of Government Employees.

Rep. Amy Roeder (D-Bangor) is running to succeed Sen. Joe Baldacci in Senate District 9, which comprises Bangor and Hermon. Roeder is serving her third term in the Maine House where she is the co-chair of the Labor Committee.
