Join us for the inaugural “Conversations at the Scontras Center” with a talk by teaching fellow Kevin Van Meter titled “Of Pirates, Witches, & Workers: 500-Years of Labor History” at the University of Southern Maine in Portland on Thursday November 30, 6pm in Talbot Lecture Hall.

Beginning on Tuesday, November 21, the Charles A. Scontras Center for Labor and Communication Education is offering a series of online open enrollment workshops designed to develop your organizing skills, strengthen your union or workers’ organization and build a strong union culture on the job.

In the past several weeks, award-winning actor and playwright

The Machinists Local S6 Women's Committee at Bath Iron Works contributed an impressive amount of hygiene products as part of its annual Hygiene Drive for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Women of Steel chapter from USW 900 at the Rumford mill had a very successful October. The USW women raised about $800 selling candy apples, whoopee pies and other treats at the River Valley Pumpkin Fest in Rumford on October 14.
