Suzy Young of Winterport was recently hired by Food AND Medicine in Brewer to be the first Peer Workforce Navigator to help Maine workers access good jobs, apprenticeship and training programs, unemployment benefits, and other supports.

Last week, 25-year old Oliver Bianchi started his first term as the new President of the Hampden Professional Firefighters (IAFF 4903). Bianchi, who grew up in Rockport, comes from a union family.

This past Monday (Tax Day), members of the Maine Service Employees Association SEIU 1989 joined workers throughout New England to demand corporations pay what they owe for public services in our communities and stop shifting tax responsibilities onto working families and retirees.
