Western Maine Labor Council to Host 20th Annual Workers' Memorial Day/May Day Dinner — Saturday April 25th

The Western Maine Labor Council will host its 20th Annual Workers' Memorial Day/May Day Dinner on Saturday, April 25, at 49 Franklin Reception Hall & Mystic Theater on 49 Franklin Street Rumford. Socializing begins at 4:30 pm and dinner is at 5:15 pm. Join us to continue the struggle for workers' rights and to honor Maine workers who died on the job. We will feature a great dinner, raffles, featured speakers, awards presentations and an opportunity to honor Maine workers.

This year the keynote speaker will be Barry Eveland, National IAM Health & Safety Project Coordinator. Three awards will be given this year to strong champions of workers' rights and workplace safety:

The Frances Perkins Award: Former Senator Anne Rand

The Bruce D Roy Award: Former Legislator Randy Berry USW Local 14 & 11

The Worker Solidarity Award: Jay Mobile Home Park Residents

$40.00 each - Basic Ticket - covers cost of your dinner. Additional donations help sustain the work of the Council. Contributors at the $50 or higher level will be acknowledged at the event.
