West Bath Firefighter Michael T. Drake Passes Away

Our thoughts are with the family, friends and co-workers Michael T. Drake, 52, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at his residence. A memorial service for him will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Following it will be fireman honors at the West Bath Fire Department with a gathering of family and friends and refreshments. Drake joined the volunteer fire department in his hometown of West Bath at the age of 15 and continued to serve there for the rest of his life, according to the Harpswell Anchor. He was a full-time firefighter and paramedic for the city of Bath for 25 years and was a part-time instructor for a regional fire academy. In addition to his work as a teacher of prospective firefighters, he was a trainer of trainers from across North America.
