UMaine Grad Workers to Hold Fair Contract Rally — Thurs. April 24
University of Maine Graduate Workers (UMGWU-UAW) have been bargaining for over 500 days and still don't have a contract. This is way too long to wait for the justice they deserve in the workplace. Please join the UMaine Grad Workers and other supporters for a fair contract rally on the Orono campus to urge the University of Maine System administration to agree to a fair contract that meets the needs and bargaining goals of these union workers.
"We need a contract now more than ever and can push the UMS bargaining team forward if we stand together and make our voices heard," the union wrote in a statement "So please come stand in solidarity and demonstrate our power. UMaine works because we work, let's remind them!"
Thursday April 24: Rally for a Fair Contract
Time: 12pm
Location: University of Maine, Orono campus, MLK Plaza (next to the Memorial Union)
We will be gathering near the bargaining location to show our support for a fair union contract and to send a strong message to the UMS administration that we support a fair union contract for UMS Grad Workers!
