Support the Solidarity Harvest to Help Mainers in Need this Thanksgiving

The Solidarity Harvest is an annual community project in Maine organized by the nonprofit Food AND Medicine (FAM) and sponsored by the Eastern Maine Labor Council that distributes locally-sourced Thanksgiving meal baskets to families, workers, and individuals experiencing hard times.

This year, you have the opportunity to give a Maine family a nutritious, bountiful Thanksgiving and relieve a whole lot of stress of how they’ll afford it. Join this amazing program as a Sponsor. Last year, union members and community volunteers 1,675 meal boxes throughout Maine. We expect to pay more this year for the 55,000+ pounds of produce and supplies we will purchase for the meal boxes.

This year’s fundraising goal is $92,000. All business and organization donors will be listed on printed materials included with each meal box, listed by donor level:

● Platinum $5,000 +

● Gold $2,000-$4,999

● Silver $1,000-$2,000

● Bronze $500-$999

● Pewter $300-$499

● Sponsor $1-$299

An 11x17 poster with donor logos is included in each of the boxes and made available to volunteers. Logos will be included at the following minimum donations: unions or nonprofits $300; $500 for businesses. Donations of $1000+ will receive prime logo placement. To have your logo included on the poster, notify pledge by October 31st. Be part of this incredible program that distributes these huge, quality meal boxes to Mainers in hard times through over 100 unions and partner organizations. Each box is filled with over 30 pounds of locally grown produce, plus stuffing and a turkey or $15 gift card, and even a small cookbook with tips and recipes for each of the 12 different foods in the boxes.
