SHRINK, SHIFT, SHAFT: A workshop with Mike Prokosch
Why are government services shrinking? Why is the tax burden being shifted from the rich onto the rest? How will these cuts affect us, and how should we respond? The Local 14 Solidarity Center will be hosting a workshop featuring economics educator and organizer Mike Prokosch to discuss these questions on Tuesday, June 17 at 6pm.
When: Tuesday, June 17th, 6pm
Where: Local 14 Solidarity Center, 6 Intervale Rd., Jay Maine
RSVP to Linda Deane at sterlin@roadrunner.com or call/text 207-491-8168
About the hall:
The Local 14 Union Hall was home to one of the most courageous and hard-fought strikes in recent labor history. It now belongs to the Western Maine Labor Council. Once renovated and equipped, the Center will become a hub for labor education, workers rights training, and worker organizing in Western Maine. Space will also be available for community groups and events. The revitalized building will be a dynamic space housing exhibits, classes, meeting rooms, a library, and the latest organizing technologies. It will create opportunities for a new generation of workers to learn from seasoned trade unionists. Come see it!
