The Scontras Center for Labor and Community Education partnered with the Franco-American Collection at the University of Southern Maine to host the annual Labor History Walking Tour of Lewiston as part of the Bates College 50th Reunion celebrations. This year's expanded lineup of speakers included acclaimed Maine author Denis Ledoux, Father Mike Seavey of the Diocese of Portland, and Mohamed Awil from the Harward Center for Community Partnerships.

The group explored Lewiston's rich textile heritage, the 1937 Auburn shoe strike and "Red Wednesday," Petit Canada, and the enduring contributions of both the Franco-American community and more recent immigrant communities from Somalia and around the world.
