Our brothers and sisters with Teamsters Local Union 340 will be holding a rally this coming Monday, April 27 evening at the Portland Water Districts office located at 225 Douglas St. in Portland prior to the 6pm Trustees meeting.

When: Monday April 27th at 5:30pm

Where: 225 Douglas St.,Portland

Time: 5:30 to 6:45pm

Members of Teamsters Local 340 who work for the Portland Water District are calling for more regulation on the use of A.I. and automation to protect public health and safety. For more than 18 months, Portland Water District workers have been negotiating a new labor contract while continuing to operate and maintain the water system that provides safe, clean drinking water to communities across the region. Union members have proposed contract language to ensure that technological changes do not replace or shift critical system oversight away from trained local operators.  There will be time for Public Comment at the beginning of the trustees meeting. Please share this information with your friends and family that count on the Portland Water District for clean, safe water and the protection of our environment.
