Machinists Local S6 and Bath Marine Draftsmen’s Association (UAW 3999) Veteran’s Committees recently put together a veterans luncheon to celebrate the collection of $5,314.50 for Boothbay V.E.T.S. Inc.

Boothbay V.E.T.S. (Veterans Emergency Temporary Shelter) Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization that concentrates on getting homeless Veterans off the cold hard ground and into a soft and warm bed. Their mission is to manufacture and provide short term shelter for homeless veterans who do not have immediate access to housing.

“Thank you Ed Harmon for taking up the cause of ensuring that every veteran has a safe place to sleep. Your work is literally saving the lives of our neighbors, one shelter at a time,” Local S6 wrote on Facebook. “We look forward to working together more in the future.”
