Kennebec Journal Journalist & Union Leader Andy Molloy Passes Away

We are sad to hear of the passing of longtime Kennebec Journal photojournalist Andy Molloy after a decade battling adenoid cystic carcinoma, a rare form of cancer. He was 57. Andy was a longtime union leader, having served as president, treasurer and other roles in TYPO Local 643 (CWA) over his decades at the KJ. He was proud to have negotiated the first LGBTQ equal protections for same sex spouses in a union contract in Maine, among other achievements of his local. He was a champion of the power of the union, and the power of the local press. Our thoughts are with his friends, coworkers and family.
