The Charles A. Scontras Center for Labor and Community Education has released details about the “Just Transitions Summit: How Can We Fight the Climate Crisis and Achieve Economic and Social Justice” coming up on April 3-5 at the University of Southern Maine - Portland. Discussions and workshops will explore the meaning of a "just transition,” which seeks to ensure workers' livelihoods and communities are supported in the transition to a clean energy economy.   • The Arts as A Tool to Achieving Climate Justice and Social Justice
  • Putting the Community Back in Community Solar: A case study on consumer-owned energy development

Unions and Organizations to be featured include Jobs with Justice, Cornell Climate Jobs Institute, Maine AFL-CIO, IBEW 567, UAW Region 9A, Maine Community Power Cooperative, Portland Longshoremen Local 861 (ILA) and the University of Maine Graduate Workers Union-UAW.
