Just Transitions Summit to Feature Strike Author Jeremy Brecher & Workshops on Labor & the Clean Energy Economy

The Charles A. Scontras Center for Labor and Community Education has released details about the “Just Transitions Summit: How Can We Fight the Climate Crisis and Achieve Economic and Social Justice” coming up on April 3-5 at the University of Southern Maine - Portland. Discussions and workshops will explore the meaning of a "just transition,” which seeks to ensure workers' livelihoods and communities are supported in the transition to a clean energy economy. Keynote Speakers will include:
- Jeremy Brecher, author of Strike!, Green New Deal from Below, and more (via Zoom)
- Todd Vachon, Director of LEARN-Rutgers, author of Clean Air and Good Jobs: U.S. Labor and the Struggle for Climate Justice
- Dr. Vivian Price, filmmaker (via Zoom)
- Alisha Kang, President of the Union of National Employees-Canada
- Rick Levy, President of the Texas AFL-CIO
- Camilo Viveiros, Senior Labor Educator, UMass Dartmouth
