Our thoughts are with the friends and family of David B. Lowell of Searsport and Port Charlotte, Florida who passed away on July 24 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was 71.

Lowell worked for the Bucksport paper mill, earning apprenticeships as both a pipefitter and machine wright. A proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW), he served as a union representative, chapter president, and later Grand Lodge Representative for the Northeast Region. Throughout his career, David was a tireless advocate for workers' rights, fair treatment, and good American jobs.

David lived life with a spirit of adventure and a love for exploring the world. Whether riding his Harley, boating on the open waters, or traveling with his beloved wife, Louise, he embraced every opportunity to make new memories. The Caribbean held a special place in his heart, becoming one of his favorite destinations. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course and cheering on his favorite New England sports. Time with family and friends brought David his greatest joy, especially gathering around the table for a spirited game of Sixes. Most of all, he cherished his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
