Augusta Mobile Home Parks Fight for Lot Rent Control: Updates + Upcoming Actions!

Mobile home park residents in Augusta have seen the land underneath their houses bought up by huge, out-of-state private equity firms notorious across the country for raising monthly lot rents by hundreds of dollars per month. With many residents on disability and fixed incomes, rent hikes at these parks could force elderly retirees back to work or onto the streets.

Residents are fighting back and gathering signatures on a lot rent stabilization ordinance for the city, which will tie rent increases to the rate of inflation (CPI-W) or a maximum of a 3%. With over 2,000 Augusta resident signatures needed by August 20th to get this measure onto the city's ballot, residents need your help.
