Ironworkers Local 852 members at Cives Steel in Augusta are stepping up pressure on the Georgia-based company to negotiate a fair contract that respects their hard work and dedication. This week, the workers displayed signs in their vehicle windows in the company parking lot to show their solidarity and to signal their displeasure with the company for not moving on wages, health care and retirement security. Cives manufactures structural steel for commercial projects in New England including stadiums, high rises, hospitals, universities, laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and more.

The workers have been working without a contract since April 1 and are fighting hard for a new three-year contract that respects their hard work and dedication. The current contract expired on March 15 and was extended until March 31. The Georgia-based company has 1,400 employees and an annual revenue of $361 million.
