As workers across the country continue to organize and strike for better lives another Labor Day is nearly upon us. Labor Day is when we honor the hard work and sacrifices workers have made for fair wages, safe working conditions and more. On Labor Day weekend there will be several events across Maine and New Hampshire for working people to gather in the spirit of solidarity and celebrate the true meaning of the holiday along with food, music and rousing labor speeches.

In addition, to Labor Day festivities in Portland, Augusta and Brewer, the New Hampshire AFL-CIO will feature International Brotherhood of Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien and pro-labor Congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA) as speakers at its annual Labor Day Breakfast. President O'Brien, who is coming off a historical agreement between the Teamsters and UPS, is a fiery and inspiring union leader, so if you live in far Southern Maine you won't want to miss it!
