The Western Maine Labor Council will host a discussion of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs’ decision and its impact for union workers on Tuesday, December 20 at 6 pm on Zoom. This decision overturned the Roe v. Wade decision, and opened the door for states to place sweeping restrictions on health care decisions affecting reproduction and reproductive health. The discussion will include a panel of Maine Service Employees Association SEIU 1989 members who work at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, as well as members of the Maine State Nurses Association (MSNA) and will be followed by group discussion.

There will also be a short discussion of the recent railroad negotiations and the impact of the imposed contract on workers here in Maine, as well as a short business meeting.
