This coming Tuesday, November 8th, Mainers will decide at the ballot box whether our state moves forward on policies that will meaningfully improve the lives of working class Mainers.

Thanks to the leadership of Senate President Troy Jackson, Speaker Ryan Fecteau, a pro-labor legislature and Governor Mills, we were able to pass more than 60 pro-labor pieces of legislation during the past four years that improve workers lives. For a refresher on why we believe Governor Mills is the right choice and why Paul LePage is wrong for Maine, you can compare their labor records here.

During these past four years, we have also had the opportunity to build public support for workers organizing at Maine Medical Center, the Portland Museum of Art, Preble Street, Bates College, Starbucks, Chipotle and numerous other workplaces.  Having supportive elected officials strengthens organizing efforts and means we can devote more time to support organizing drives.  We are eager to expand this work in the coming years.

Please view our list of endorsed candidates for the Maine Legislature to learn which candidates will fight for labor issues and visit our legislative scorecard to find out how your local Representatives and Senators voted on legislation impacting working class people here.

Many of these legislative races are won and lost by just a handful of votes, so it’s not only critical to get voters out to re-elect Governor Mills, but also a pro-labor majority in the Maine Legislature to ensure we can continue on the right track.
