USW 900 Women of Steel Raise Pumpkin Fest Raises Over $1400 for Heating Oil Giveaway, Gifts for Kids

The USW 900 Women of Steel (WoS) raised $1630 from their bake sale and raffles at the annual Pumpkin Fest in Rumford on Oct. 12. All proceeds from the sale will go toward's Christmas gifts for kids and the chapter's heating oil give away in December. WoS will hold a raffle in December to give away 100 gallons of heating oil each to two lucky winners.

"Damn the wind!!! We had a great day anyway," wrote WoS member Judilee Whittemore on Facebook. "Thanks to all the ladies who showed up to help and donated their goodies. Thank you to all the customers showing your support. Pumpkin Fest is a great way of building the community n showing support to all the vendors!!"
 

WoS also handed out candy at Mexico’s Trunk or Treat last month.
