Union members from the CWA, USW, Maine Service Employees Association (SEIU 1989), AFGE, APWU, UFCW, IBEW, IAM and Maine State Nurses Association are out talking to voters about pro-worker legislative candidates all over Maine, from the Berwicks, Winthrop and Hallowell to Waldo County, the St. John Valley and Caribou.

On Wednesday, the Maine AFL-CIO held a training for members to learn all the ins outs of canvassing, from developing a list of issues to discuss with voters, practicing a pitch about our endorsed pro-worker candidates and using our voter database. The training also focused on how to have deeper conversations and ask voters meaningful questions.

Union members are out talking to voters about endorsed labor candidates including Janet Mills for Governor, Jared Golden for Congress and targeted State legislative candidates like Troy Jackson, Craig Hickman, Chip Curry, Tim Nangle and others.

Would you be up for joining a door to door canvass talking to other union members or would you want to join our team full time as a paid canvasser? If you are interested, email sarah@maineaflcio.org.
