Union Members Canvass Car Dealerships in Auburn in Support of Striking Autoworkers

Members of IBEW 567 and IBEW 1253, UFCW 1445 and the Maine Labor Climate Council canvassed and passed out leaflets outside car dealerships in Auburn on Saturday to raise awareness about the UAW strike at the Big 3 automakers. Union members said they had several productive conversations with locals and dealership employees about why it’s critical to support our union brothers and sisters on the picket lines at Ford, General Motors and Stelantis. 

“Overall, I’d say the event was a success, and I think it was good for folks in the dealerships to have an opportunity to hear another perspective to the management side messaging that’s coming down to them,” said Maine AFL-CIO staffer Sam Boss.
