Union drivers for the Lewiston-Auburn CityLink bus service, who work for Western Maine Transportation Services, need our support! After a hard-fought campaign, the drivers won their union election in November and affiliated with Amalgamated Transit Union Local 714. The workers have cited several reasons for organizing, including the desire for meaningful representation in management's decisions, better pay, restoration of holidays and personal days, better communication with WMTS, and a correction to chronic understaffing.

Despite netting millions of state and federal dollars in each of the last three years, WMTS resisted the organizing effort, has been dragging their feet about coming to the bargaining table, and recently fired a union-supporting driver over a first offense. The bus drivers and ATU 714 are asking for community members to reach out to WMTS management and board members and ask that WMTS immediately reinstate Jessica Quick and sit down to bargain in good faith with the newly unionized drivers.

If you live in the Lewiston/Auburn area, please use this form to send an email to the members of the staff and board at WMTS!
