Sing Loud, Sing Proud: Join the Maine AFL-CIO Labor Chorus

Do you like to sing? The Maine AFL-CIO is forming a labor chorus! Our main goal is to have fun making music together! Work has long been a theme in music from sea chanties to African American spirituals about forced labor and how to escape it. As workers got organized in the 19th century, labor songs emerged to protest unfair treatment and unify working people on the picket lines in the spirit solidarity.
