Twelve workers at Rumford Power in Rumford are now members of the Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA). The workers — which include A&B operators, O&M techs, I&E tech/leads, IC&E techs,  and maintenance techs/Mechanics — voted 10-2 on November 15 to form their union with UWUA, which also represents Unitil gas workers in Southern Maine.

Rumford Power is a 265-megawatt combined-cycle natural gas-fired power plant owned by Cogentrix, a management platform of the private equity firm the Carlyle Group. The Carlyle Group purchased  the Rumford Power Station from Emera in March of 2019.

Congratulations on your new union brothers & sisters!
