Lewiston Mayor Carl Sheline won his run-off election on Tuesday against anti-labor candidate Jon Connor. The Western Maine Labor Council endorsed Sheline for Mayor due to his support for affordable housing, workers  rights and incentivizing the creation of good quality jobs in the city.

Mayor Sheline has fought to protect jobs and critical public services for the community. He understands that quality, affordable housing is key to building a robust workforce and a growing economy in Lewiston. His opponent was one of the most anti-worker members of the Maine Legislature, supporting right-to-work for less bills and receiving just 11 percent during his one term in the Maine Legislature on our Working Families Legislative Scorecard.

Congratulations Mayor Sheline!
