The Mailhandlers union (NPMHU) Local 301 held a stewards training at the Plumbers and Fitters 716 hall in Augusta earlier this month. They trained three new stewards from the Hampden postal plant and two new stewards from the Scarborough facility. The new stewards were given an in depth training on how to defend and enforce their union contract.

Maine AFL-CIO staff joined the stewards training to talk about the all that is happening in the broader labor movement and ways stewards can get members involved in that work. We also talked about our Workforce Navigator project and current staffing challenges within the Postal Service.

Do you have a stewards training coming up? Let us know! We’d love to join to share a Maine AFL-CIO update or cover it in the Maine Labor News.
