Machinists District Lodge 4’s sixth annual charity golf tournament earlier this month raised $44,000 Guide Dogs of America/Tender Loving Canines, an organization that provides free seeing-eye dogs to individuals who are visually impaired and rehabilitation facility dogs and service dogs for veterans and children with autism.

“IAM District 4’s annual charity golf tournament for Guide Dogs of America/Tender Loving Canines was a great success,” said Dan Loudermilk of Machinists District 4. “The money we raised will go a long way to helping veterans, children and others with disabilities overcome tremendous challenges and live life to its full potential. We want to thank all of our sponsors who stepped up to support this fantastic organization that has transformed thousands of lives.”

Sergeant David Nulty of the Sherborn Police Department in Massachusetts was also in attendance with his facility dog, West, who came from Guide Dogs of America and is used for community service where needed for the Police Department. District Lodge 4 is also seeking riders and sponsors for IAM’s Eastern Territory 4th Annual Kourpias K-9 Classicon July 28th through July 30th.

Guide Dogs of America was founded in 1948 by IAMAW to help create life-changing partnerships that go on to transform the lives of veterans, individuals with autism, blind and visually impaired people at no charge.
