Valentine’s Day is next Tuesday and what better time to show love and solidarity for Little Dog workers! Maine DSA, the Bowdoin Labor Alliance, and the Bates Leftist Coalition are sponsoring a Valentine’s Day Solidarity Sip-In on February 14, from 10am-3pm, at the Little Dog coffee shop at 87 Maine St. in Brunswick to support the baristas who voted unanimously to form a union with Workers United in December.

“We’re coming together as a community to call for their employer to engage with the union and their demands in good faith,” the group announced. “Come out and join the community in a show of solidarity and demand that the union is heard.”

Little Dog Workers are still fighting to get their employer to the bargaining table, to engage in good faith with the union, and to improve safety conditions at their workplace.

Customers are urged to show up between 10am and 3pm on Valentine’s Day to enjoy some coffee and snacks and fill out pro-union “valentine” cards to give to their favorite pro-union baristas.

If you can’t make it to the event, but have an Instagram account, use the hashtag #littledogunion or tag the Little Dog Workers to show your support and be featured on the union's instagram page!
