Join Meeting for Farmworker Rights in Portland — Sun. 4/16
Farmworkers and allies will be gathering in Portland this Sunday, April 16 to discuss the Milk with Dignity campaign and how to take action to support farmworker rights in Room 510 of Luther Bonney Hall at 85 Bedford Street in Portland. There will be a potluck at 1pm followed by a presentation and discussion starting at 2pm. The meeting will also be on Zoom for those who can't make the trip to be in person.
Please RSVP by filling out this form
The meeting is part of this spring’s northeast tour of immigrant dairy workers to connect with supporters and take action with the Milk with Dignity campaign. The farmworker organization Migrant Justice is calling on the Hannaford supermarket chain to source its store-brand milk from farms where workers' human rights are independently monitored and protected, and the long-term interests of farm owners are supported.
During this organizing meeting, you will hear directly from farmworkers, learn about the Milk with Dignity Program, take collective action, and gain the tools you need to join this inspiring struggle for human rights.
