Eric Blanc, Author of “Red State Revolt,” to Join Labor Reading Group - March 28

The Maine AFL-CIO Labor Reading Group will feature guest author Eric Blanc for its third and final session of his book Red State Revolt: The Teachers’ Strike Wave & Working Class Politics on Thursday, March 28, 5:30-7:00 pm on Zoom. Pre-registeration is required.

A former teacher and veteran activist Blanc is a professor of Labor Studies at Rutgers and an organizer/trainer for the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee. For Red State Revolt, Blanc embedded himself with the rank-and-file leadership of a 2018 Red State educator strike wave. This series of actions was a rebuke to union bureaucracies resigned to doing less with less, marking a turn to the grassroots through social media outreach.
