City Airport Workers Join Bangor Federation of Public Employees (AFT 6071)

The city of Bangor has voluntarily recognized four workers at the Bangor city airport as members of the the Bangor Federation of Public Employees (AFT) Local 6071 after the union filed a petition with the Maine Labor Relations Board to add the new members to the bargaining unit on Sept. 7. 

Local 6071 currently represents the maintenance technicians at the city public works department. The new members are maintenance technicians as well and are part of the GSE group at the city airport. By becoming part of the established bargaining unit, the new members will see wage increases, boot and tool allowance increases, enhanced comp time and other enhanced benefits.
