BIW Union Local Members Raise Money for Domestic Violence Prevention

The Women’s Committee of The International Association Of Machinists Local S6 In Bath raised over $1,200 to support nonprofits addressing domestic violence during its 5th Annual Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Collection on October 25th. The money will be donated to area non-profit agencies in Maine including Safe Voices, Family Violence Project and The Wabanaki Women’s Coalition. “The Women’s Committee would like to thank everyone who gave to, and supported, our Domestic Violence gate collection," said Lori Fransisco chairwoman of the Committee . "Our total donations came to $1255.18. We will be donating a sum of $418.00 To each of the following; Safe Voices, Family Violence Project and The Wabanaki Women’s Coalition. Domestic violence is  a serious and often deadly issue.”
