Can you make it to the 2024 Maine AFL-CIO Labor Summer Institute? The Summer Institute is a two-day solidarity school, held in partnership with theMaine Bureau of Labor Education, where union members from workplaces across the state come together to meet each other, learn new skills and build our power.
The theme for year's Summer Institute, which will be held August 1 - 2, 2024 at the University of Maine in Orono, is chronic short staffing across many sectors of the economy and what we can do about it as union members and as a labor movement. We even have a union nurse from the German union ver.di coming from Germany to share their perspective and experience. We will have childcare available for anyone who needs it.

The Institute will offer a mix of discussions, educational presentations, labor history, participatory workshops, art and culture and skill building. We hope that you will join us this summer as we work to build a stronger labor movement. This is a great leadership development opportunity for new and seasoned union members and allies alike.
