2022 Elections Bring Big Wins for Working People!

This fall union members from all over Maine knocked on doors and made phone calls from Windham to Waldo County and Winthrop to For Kent to talk to voters about pro-labor candidates running for the Governor and Maine Legislature. On election night their hard work paid off big time with wins in nearly all of the pro-worker candidates we worked to get elected.

Governor Janet Mills cruised to a victory over anti-union Paul LePage with nearly 56 percent of the vote. 

Mainers once again elected a pro-labor majority to the Maine Legislature. As of November 9th, we expect there will be 22 Democrats and 12 Republicans in the Maine Senate between Democrat BettyAnn Sheets and Republican Eric Brakey too close to call. We expect 82 Democrats, 67 Republicans and 2 Unenrolled in the Maine House. While some races are not yet decided, but not enough to doubt a pro-worker majority in the Maine Senate and Maine House. This means that Maine’s Legislature will likely re-elect Attorney General Aaron Frey, Secretary of State Shenna Bellows and Treasurer Henry Beck.
